Calgary police investigate suspicious death in Castleridge neighbourhood

CALGARY –  Calgary police are investigating after a woman in her 30s was found dead in the city’s northeast Monday afternoon.

Police are speaking with a man who found the woman’s body, but no one was in custody early Monday night.

Two ambulances were in the Castleridge neighbourhood as of 4:30 p.m., and many police cars remained on scene.

EMS said paramedics were called at about 3:45 p.m. to a home in the 0-100 block of Castledale Way N.E. for “complaints of a medical nature” Oct. 26, 2015.

“On arrival our paramedics quickly requested Calgary police attend the location and then immediately turned the scene over entirely to police,” said spokesperson Stuart Brideaux in a statement. “EMS has not transported anyone from this scene.”

Police said its homicide unit is leading the investigation; an autopsy is set for Tuesday.
