POINTE-CLAIRE —; An 11-year-old student frustrated by teacher pressure tactics in the face of budget cuts is taking his case straight to his MNA.

Adamo Hartley met with MNA Geoff Kelley Monday to voice his frustrations over plans to expand class size and other budget cuts.

When he left the meeting he admitted the situation was “more complicated” than he originally thought, adding that the two sides need to compromise. Hartley wrote a letter to the provincial government earlier this month.
The St. John Fisher Elementary student was frustrated over cancelled functions such as the school’s elaborate play and a grad trip that are usually part of the extracurricular program.
“It’s making school not really enjoyable,” he told Global News at the time.

“All the stuff that made school fun, well it’s gone.”

His mother, Josie Campisi, said the closed-door meeting was important for Hartley.
“It was important for him to have his voice heard,” she said.
